DOSD Meram, a center that provides community-based services to individuals with Down Syndrome and their families; It was established under the leadership of Meram Municipality, in partnership with Necmettin Erbakan University and Provincial Directorate of National Education.

General Purposes

In the center,
Individuals with Down Syndrome; To improve the quality of life,
To ensure that families act consciously in the development of their children,
Contributing to psycho-motor skills,
Improving self-care and daily living skills,
To increase cognitive and academic abilities,
To improve social life skills,
Helping them maintain behavioral control/reducing problematic behavior,
Contributing to self-monitoring skills by increasing their cognitive awareness,
To improve communication and language speaking skills,
The aim is to improve collaboration skills.

DOSD Meram is based on early education understanding and education based on cooperation between stakeholders with a holistic approach. It is planned with an approach based on interdisciplinary cooperation in line with an initial performance determined by professionals, recorded with observations, checklists, rubrics and teaching charts of professional educators, teaching is carried out using effective teaching techniques, determining post-teaching developments with objective measurement tools, when necessary. It promises a comparable education based on a reorganized and open system with program revisions. The program is based on cooperation in the fields of special education, psychological counseling, educational program, child development, basic education, sports sciences and arts. An interdisciplinary approach has been adopted in cooperation with the areas required for development based on the performance of each individual.
